WHAT IS THE BRAZILIAN CAMOUFLAGE TATTOOING?

Brazilian camouflage tattooing is a method in which inorganic pigments are custom blended to match the skin-tone or corrective pigment and tattooed into the skin. The purpose is to disguise a scar or stretch mark.

CONSULTATION

A free consultation is the first step in the process. It will determine if you are a candidate and discuss your options as well as details about the procedure. If you are a candidate for Camouflage Tattooing and REQUIRE a spot test patch. There is a charge of $75 for a spot test to cover the cost of supplies.

RESULTS & EXPECTATIONS

Camouflage tattooing can be an unpredictable process. A combination of pigments will be custom blended to match the color of the natural skin. If correcting discoloration, the first session may be to insert corrective coloring before implanting the skin tone. The final healed color looks very different from when the pigment was initially implanted. The healed result equals the pigment color formula that was inserted under the skin plus the patient's skin color and under tones. It will take 4 to 6 weeks to see how the healed color will look, but may need up to 8 weeks before a second session can be completed. Once the final look is achieved, touch-up treatments may be required every 4-6 years for thicker scarred tissue, but can last up to 10+ years.

WHAT IS LIP BLUSH?

Lip blushing is a form of semi-permanent makeup. Enhances the beauty of the natural lip color, improving the shape of the lips, giving definition and the illusion of fullness. It can be a corrective treatment to help even out the tone of the lips, as well as help with asymmetry.

DOES IT HURT?

Discomfort is minimal and a topical anesthetic is used to insure a painless procedure.

This may vary depending on the individuals pain tolerance.

DISQUALIFICATION

Those currently on blood-thinning medications or suffering from chronic cold sores or lip dryness. These conditions often indicate a weaker immune system and can make you more vulnerable to getting an infection from the procedure. It is best to wait out the weather and allow your lips to rehydrate before booking an appointment. Women who are pregnant or nursing must avoid permanent makeup treatments. The risk for infections is even greater during these times and hormone changes could affect how the pigment shows up on your skin.

RESULTS & EXPECTATIONS

Immediately after the lips will appear darker and swollen. The swelling should go down around 2 days. Your lips will start to flake and peel around 3-4 days. During this stage, scabs begin to form to recover from the needle-induced wounds. Never peel off the scabs, picking off the skin can fade the lip blush's pigment or patchiness throughout the area. Around 8 weeks after your initial appointment, schedule a follow-up whether you need to even out, neutralize or lighten your lip shade. Typically, lip blushing lasts between two to three years and will gradually lighten and fade overtime. Which is why many PMU artists recommend yearly touchups to prolong the lip shade you want.
